How to get to Ulgii, Western Mongolia?
Domestic Flights
Ulgii city is situated in the far west corner of Mongolia and about 1700 km far from Ulaanbaatar. The easiest and fastest way to reach Western Mongolia is, of course, catching a flight from Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.
To promote tourism, our government has designated the national carrier, MIAT, to operate domestic flights. In 2025, MIAT has offered three flights per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays). For 2026, MIAT hasn’t announced flight schedules yet.
However, a private airline, Hunnu Air, has announced two day flights per week for 2026 summer and will start operating from June 7 till August 28. The flight days are Tuesdays and Fridays. For eagle festival times, additional flights will served by Hunnu Air.

Bus
You can reach Ulgii by bus, which takes approximately 36 hours. If you don’t mind a two-day journey and want to save some money, this is the perfect option for you. Buses depart daily.
How can I meet you?
Once you arrive in Ulgii, our team will be there to greet you at the airport or bus station, depending on your mode of transportation. We will have a representative holding a sign with your name, and they will assist you with the transfer to your accommodation or the start of your tour.
How about the transport options?
For our tours, we primarily use 4WD Russian minivans (UAZ), which are known for their durability, reliability, and ease of repair in the event of a breakdown—an advantage over Jeeps. These vehicles are well-suited for the rugged, unpaved mountain roads of the Altai region, with spacious cabins and large trunks that accommodate up to 7 passengers comfortably.
We also offer Japanese 4WD jeeps (Land Cruiser, Prado, Hilux) for those who prefer a more comfortable and faster ride.
How to Secure Your Tour?
To secure your spot on the tour, a deposit of $400 USD per person is required. Please email us a photo or scan of the deposit receipt once the payment is made. The remaining balance must be paid at least 90 days before your scheduled arrival. If it is Eagle Festival tour, the remaining amaount must be paid at least 4 months earlier.
